Cognisant are working with a long-standing housebuilder that build quality homes sustainably. They are currently looking for a Commercial Director to lead and develop the regional commercial strategy, overseeing cost control, procurement, and financial performance.

This senior leadership role will work closely with the operational teams to maximise profitability and deliver business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the commercial team, ensuring best practice in quantity surveying, procurement, and cost management

  • Monitor and drive key commercial KPIs, budgets, margins, and ROI

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to implement strategies that optimise profits and operational efficiency

  • Manage supplier and subcontractor relationships, ensuring contractual compliance and value

  • Provide accurate commercial appraisals, forecasts, and reports to support decision-making

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience in commercial management within construction

  • Strong financial and technical knowledge of building methods, commercial systems, and regulations

  • Proficient in relevant software (e.g., COINS, Excel)

  • Leadership experience with a focus on team development and stakeholder management
