Planning Manager.
Manchester.
Harworth Group PLC.
I’m working exclusively with Harworth Group PLC, one of the UK’s leading land and regeneration companies, to appoint a Planning Manager into their planning department. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work from home alongside office time at Harworth’s Manchester office.
Harworth owns and manages over 15,000 acres of strategic land across 100+ sites in the North of England and Midlands. They specialise in transforming former industrial and brownfield land into sustainable places for people to live and work — delivering both residential and industrial/logistics-led developments at scale.
With a substantial portfolio and a long-term vision, this is a rare opportunity to join a business where you will directly shape outcomes for some of the most important regeneration projects in the region.
The Role
As Planning Manager you will assist the Regional Head of Planning to promote and manage sites through the planning lifecycle process. Leading on negotiations such as viability, s106 agreements and planning conditions. The role will also contribute to identifying new site opportunities for acquisition/promotion in line with the company strategy in expanding its portfolio / land bank.
Key responsibilities include:
Project managing new and existing development schemes from site allocation through to satisfactory planning consent.
Working with Development Managers to coordinate delivery of sites, advising on strategy for Reserved Matters, discharge of conditions and legal agreements.
Providing detailed responses to local plan policy changes, communicating key changes with the team and advise on appropriate resolutions.
Working with the Acquisitions team to review new development opportunities across the region.
Maintain relationships with landowners as sites progress through the planning system.
Providing planning advice to relevant stakeholders within the business.
Preparing and presenting Planning Strategy Reports for consideration by Investment Committee and the Board
What They’re Looking For
Planning degree or equivalent qualification in a relative Planning field.
Minimum 7+ years' experience in planning.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across sites.
