Cognisant is working with a hotel chain that is looking to recruit a Financial Controller as they enter their new phase of growth. Reporting directly into the CFO, you will play a vital role in ensuring there are governance and control frameworks in place to effectively manage cash flow within the hotel business. You will also play a central role in supporting the CFO with the transition of relevant finance workstreams from Group to the Hotels division.

You will:

  • Lead the core finance function of the hotel division, overseeing accounting operations, statutory reporting, internal controls, and covenant compliance.

  • Review performance against the business plan and provide improvements where appropriate.

  • Serve as finance lead for refurbishments, new openings, and project tracking.

  • Be responsible for the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with FRS 102 and IFRS, and managing external obligations to JV partners and lenders.

  • Liaise with auditors and advisors on accounting treatment for complex transactions.

  • Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, internal controls, and reporting systems to enhance accuracy, efficiency and scalability.

You will be a qualified accountant with experience of operating in the hotel sector. This opportunity requires both strategic support and a hands on approach.
