This is not an acquisition role, but one focused on leading the development management and delivery of strategic projects. Key responsibilities include:
Taking a strategic lead on major projects from feasibility and acquisition through to infrastructure delivery and disposal
Building strong, long-term relationships with site purchasers, agents, landowners, Homes England, local authorities, politicians, and other key stakeholders
Ensuring projects progress efficiently, hitting key milestones, while maintaining an informed view of market trends and direction
Providing accurate project and financial reporting, and proactively identifying opportunities and risks throughout the lifecycle of each scheme
Cognisant Search has been instructed to appoint a Development Director on behalf of a large, highly entrepreneurial, and exceptionally well-funded land promoter. The company specialises in securing large-scale (1,000 to 5,000 plots), residential-led, mixed-use sites via option or freehold acquisition, and preparing them for development. These sites are then sold on to major housebuilders with planning consent, remediation, and key infrastructure delivered, or a combination thereof.
